One Barnstaple is one of a number of “One Communities” across Northern Devon, all linking in various ways to One Northern Devon.
Better and more equitable health and wellbeing for the people and communities of Northern Devon
One Northern Devon supports the development of seven ‘One Communities’ across North Devon & Torridge (Northern Devon), including six towns, one village and the surrounding area. Helping to bring together a cross-sector partnership that focus on the wider determinants of health and wellbeing (the building blocks of a good life) to help build safer, fairer, more cohesive and resilient communities.
Recognising that health services have only a 10% overall impact on residents health, the One communities were established as local cross-sector partnerships united by a common vision of Better and more equitable health and wellbeing for the people and communities of Northern Devon. As the people that best understand communities are those that live and work in them, the One Communities bring together local organisations and groups together to work on things that matter to the community.
One Ilfracombe
One Ilfracombe is a company limited by guarantee set up to help improve the lives of people living in Ilfracombe. The company is made up of partner agencies and independent members, working alongside each other to deliver services in a better and more joined up way.
Live Well in Braunton
Live Well in Braunton is a community resource connecting and supporting people to live healthier and happier lives. Community Connecting is a partnership between Social Prescribing and Community Development, our aim is to work together with residents, groups and organisations to build a stronger, more connected community
One Atlantic
One Atlantic is a community forum made up of private, public and voluntary sectors covering Bideford and the surrounding areas including Appledore, Northam and Westward Ho! We are a partnership that work together to support our local community’s health and wellbeing.
Torrington 100
Torrington 100 gets its name from the 10 square mile area around Great Torrington that the local GP surgery supports. The Torrington 100 team is working with communities in Great Torrington and the 16 villages to identify the key factors that will improve Community Wellbeing in their area – and then develop ideas, initiatives and solutions to meet the local needs.
One South Molton
A community organisation for South Molton – linked to the regional One Northern Devon, bringing residents and service providers together who know the local area best, to work on things that matter most to their community. Offering social prescribing, in combination with asset-based community development to help and enable individuals and communities to improve and promote their own health and well-being.
Holsworthy and District Community Forum
Holsworthy & District Community Forum are working to improve the wellbeing of residents of Holsworthy and its surrounding parishes by creating a local partnership made up of residents, volunteers and providers of public and private services which will work together to tackle local issues using shared assets, resources and expertise.

One Northern Devon is a partnership of organisations involved in the wider determinants of health and wellbeing.
Our vision is that people in Northern Devon live happy and healthy lives in safe, clean and connected communities where people are supportive of one another and aspirations are achieved through equal access to the best education & employment, whilst living in decent homes and enjoying our world-class natural environment.
To ensure better and more equitable health and wellbeing for the residents and communities of North Devon and Torridge, we work together following a systems approach that is both person-centred and place-based.
